Yesterday’s House 3 Skulls 25 year anniversary was a smashing success.

  • Mood: Unusually upbeat (going to get tossed out of the Goth society)
  • Weather: Damp, drizzley & dreary what a change.
A household in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA.org) is usually composed of a group of friends and like minded people that form a sort of a family, hence the name household.  The rules that govern the household are private and can be as strict or as loose as the members decide.

House 3 skulls is a very loose house hold and although I have only done 22 years with them, it is always like coming home when at a commons (gathering).  We all have nicknames.  Squid, Gunner, Weasel, Paladin, Doc.  We have more alas than the FBI

The household has be becoming more steampunk, and less Medieval, which I think is great.  The outfits sported by my house mates are to die for.  I am inspired to break out the Victorian patterns when I get back to Florida (Soon as I get the use of my right shoulder back).

A catering company took over a large back yard (squid’s) with tables and tents.  A large outdoor kitchen was set up where cooking was done all day.  We brought desserts, and what an assortment.  I limited myself to one piece of home made orange cheesecake.  Too much sugar too late will give me a migraine the next day (diabetic you know).

I did realize that I have been too withdrawn lately when I mentioned my sister’s death the end of January, Turk & Marion where shocked.  I did not post to the list or really tell anyone.

If you want to see pics click the link to the right for my photos on webshots (love that site).

I managed to talk myself horse catching up with all the people I have not seen in years and I STILL did not get the opportunity to talk to everyone I wanted to.

Our household is big, the biggest in the SCA I believe.  Even tho I did not know about half of the people there because they are too new, there were many that I knew and missed.

Good food, good booze (most home made), good people, good fun.  Life gets no better.  I hope we have one of these reunions once every 10 years or so.

Today I am going to tackle the job of uploading pictures and videos with perhaps some work on my web site.  Lets see how far I get with that ambition while my vocal cords recover.
