There I was in my hairdressers yesterday, talking about hair with the staff and customers.  I had to say it.  “You kids got it easy today!  Back in my day, if we wanted an unnatural colored hair, we had to go into NYC to Greenwich Village, to a shop in the basement. To top it all off we had to re color our hair every week because it would wash out so quickly.  Now you can get you manic panic colors everywhere.  Humpruph!”  (Shades of the I had to walk 5 miles to school uphill both ways in the snow” stories).

Then my hair dresser chimes in with “They have permanent hair colors like that now, in fact we have some.”  I brighten up.  “You are kidding” “No” she said “It has been quite a while since you were terrorizing the NYC subways, you know, I think a shock of purple on your bangs would be so you.”

“Hmmmmmm.   OK lets do it.”

So she foiled a shock of purple in my “bangs” that weaves intertwined with the rest of my frosted highlights.  It was only 2 foils so as not to be over the top, but I must agree with her.  Having my short tufted crane look with my bangs off to the side intertwined with purple streaks is me. Lets hope the folks at the airport don’t react negatively when I fly North tonight.

My late best friend Pam had it right when she gave me the Christmas present of a door mat that says “A wild, wacky wonderful woman lives here.”

The purple is back and the sleeper that is Nova begins to awake.
